Important updates about our upcoming meeting locations and a critical legislative effort regarding loud cars.
Meeting Location Updates We just learned that the meeting spaces and lobby in Tower 14 at Piedmont Center are undergoing renovations through early January.
- August Meeting – Thursday, August 20th at 6:45pm: We’ll be meeting on the Plaza Level of Tower 15. Please use the same entrance as for our regular monthly meetings. Once you enter the parking lot, take a left at the large sign for Tower 15 to access the front of the building. There is plenty of parking in front of this tower. *Map attached for reference.There is a separate entrance for Tower 15 off Piedmont Avenue, but that leads to a parking deck. Do not use this entrance.
- September Meeting: Executive Committee member Nowland Gwynn is working with APS to secure a space for our September 10th meeting. He has tentatively secured the Sutton Northside Campus (2875 Northside Drive).
- October & November: We’re finalizing these locations now and hope to give a full update during Thursday’s meeting.
Loud Cars Legislative Hearing: Executive Committee member Anne McKillips shared an urgent update regarding our loud cars initiative.
There is a critical legislative meeting happening on August 20 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Jefferson, GA (about an hour north on I-85 at Jackson EMC, 850 Commerce Road).This hearing is pivotal—if we can’t convince legislators right now that loud cars are a major issue, it will be extremely difficult to get a bill on the table for the next two years.
A strong community presence is needed in the room. Please share this information with anyone in your neighborhoods who would be interested in advancing this legislation and might be able to attend in person. If you know of anyone who can make the drive, please let me know! A Zoom option will also be available for those who wish to listen in remotely.
